Janice Morley-Lecomte is the newly elected member of the Legislative Assembly for Seine River.  She and her husband own a small business which is located in Seine River.  Janice has also worked and volunteered in the social services field for over 25 years.  From these experiences, Janice has acquired many skills which she can utilize to assist the residents of Seine River.  She has volunteered for the Parents Association and the board at her children’s school; volunteered for CFS in her community; facilitated outreach groups; sat on the Osborne House Board and volunteered for other agencies within Winnipeg.  In addition, Janice was able to connect with individuals from various economic, social and ethnic backgrounds. Through these experiences, she gained insight and appreciation for the uniqueness and strength in people.

Janice graduated from the University of Manitoba.  After completing her post-secondary education, she worked in a domestic violence shelter for many years.  Janice was trained through Manitoba Justice as a Protection Order Designate to assist women and their families in obtaining a Protection Order.  Janice has specialized training in addiction counselling and management.  Her employment in the domestic violence field required her to network, advocate, as well as support and assist women and their families as they were transitioning through changes in their lives. Janice and her family have been members of the Seine River community for the past 30 years.  As the new MLA, she looks forward to serving the constituents of Seine
